So I’m Starting A Proxy Network. Again.

K back in my highschool days I ran a couple proxies to bypass the filter thing they had in place so you couldnt go to myspace, facebook and all of those flash games websites. While I only really ran them for friends and myself, I did make some money off of them from putting some ads on them. After I gradutuated I pretty much forgot about them, the domains expired… and they were pretty much lost forever.

Recently I had an idea. Dude I made money off of those. So I found out, I had 2-3 domains that were sitting there doing nothing… pointing to nameservers that dont even exist on the interwebs. So I though, dude, im gonna sign up for some cheap-o vps, load up those domains, and fire up a small proxy network.

So it went pretty good. I started with promoting 2 domains I setup, and those are getting some steady traffic. Its so easy to promote proxies. People are literally begging for them. Check out Yahoo! Answers, there are a shitload of teenagers on there begging for proxies to unblock myspace and facebook.

Ive expanded from the inital 2 proxy sites to about 9 now. Some are just domains that need to be setup, but they will be wicked sweet proxies soon enough :D

Im monetizing them with Adbrite, and Widgetbucks so far. Ive actually sold a banner advertisement on one of them already :) $5 for 1 month. That paid for the domain 5 times over lol I love .info domains. $0.99 is amazing for a domain.

So far i’ve made $1.32 from Adbrite, and $0.19 from Widgetbucks :D Thats not too bad for 2 days of operation, and only from 2 proxies.
