• Happy Sunday I love sundays… #

Well I’m done my first year of college.Turned out to be way better than I thought it would… met a lot of new people, made a bunch of good friends Cant wait to party over the summer… Hopefully we can all get together.

I’m gonna be working full time at a printing company this summer, I worked there over the summer before college, so I know what goes on and everyone who works there. I’m also going to be making a buttload of money, so that’s always a plus.

I also plan on adding a lot of content to KillerBlog. I had a lot of trouble finding code examples and such on the Internet, and I plan on making tutorials for everything I thought was hard. If the first years in game programming next year have all the same assignments, they’re going to get a lot of use out of my blog. I’m going to be aiming to put up at least two tutorials a month, that’s going to be my bare minimum.

I’m also going to be using my blog for whatever else I feel like posting up, like this pointless post im making now. It really doesnt have to be posted, I just felt like putting something up on here and getting my thoughts out.

Exams are all next week, I think I have 6… maybe 7? I really gotta study this weekend for them, as well as throughout the week. I will be so happy when they’re done, I cant wait to be done for the year and be working over the summer.

Over the summer I plan on working on this blog a lot more, I kind of neglected it over school. School took up a lot more time than I thought it would, but I didn’t really know what to expect.

I plan on experimenting with the different programming languages I learned over school and posting my results on here. I want to write up a couple tutorials and share them with everyone.

Another thing I would like to work on is to get more visitors to this blog. Right now it’s getting anywhere between 30-50 hits a day. Whenever I make a post it usually spikes up to about 70 hits for that day. My goal isn’t to make money from this blog, although in the beginning it kind of was. From now on I would just like to see the content I make get viewed by people.

While playing around in class we found out you could do computer beeps with C#. It’s actually pretty easy, all you do is a simple Console.beep(int frequency, int length).

After some playing around we managed to come up with mary had a little lamb. It wasnt that hard because someone knew the actual notes for the tune, so we just googled note frequencies, and it was easy. The only hard part was coming up with the timing, which I still dont think is perfect, but whatever.

All I made was a simple form with 1 button that plays the song when you press it. I have included the entire source code (solution file) which also has an .exe file in the \bin\Debug folder. So if you dont have Microsoft Visual Studio, you still should be able to hear it

I plan on taking some time this weekend (April 4-5) to work on some programming tutorials. This semester we have been learning a lot of C#, and Action Script 3.0. We are learning Java this semester as well, but the teacher sucks so we haven’t learned that much. Read the rest of this entry »

You might not know, but I used to be into running proxies. I started my proxy network on December 13th 2008. I started off with 2 proxies, and then once those started to get traffic I expanded to about 10 or so proxies. Only a couple days after that, I started to earn big money with my proxy network.

It took a lot of work and promotion, but it finally started to pay off. My best performing proxy was”The Blue Proxy” and it was getting 1.6million page views a month at its peak. You can check that out on my Best Proxy post I made a while back.

All together I made about $40 from just using Adbrite. I really dont think it’s that much because it was costing $7.50 a month, and I had the proxies for 3 months.

I finally decided to sell off all of my proxies because I wasnt spending any time on them (literally zero time) and they started to get less and less hits. I know they usually operate without any upkeep, you just setup the domain, promote and leave it.. but I want to move on to bigger and better things.

I managed to sell off all of my proxies for $40. It was a quick sale, and went fairly painless. I feel better now that theyre in someones hands who will actually care about them.
